It all began a long, long time ago, far, far away, on the planet of Orleans...
It was a Strat that did it. I borrowed it off my bud Ron, and naturally fell to picking Sultans of Swing and Single Handed Sailor.
Then, an original song fell out. It was branded from head to toe in Knopflerisms. I decided then and there I would put
together an "original tribute act." I felt that as cool as a great tribute act can be, their missing that one crucial element -
a product. So I fell to writing in the style of MK and endeavoured to assemble a band.
The band - strange to say - was the hard part. In fact, it hasn't happened yet. What gives?
But I have not been idle. At long last the album is done, and I proudly present
"On the Mark," my tribute to MK and DS. The album features
myself on a whack of instruments, plus some stellar performances by Mike Favreau, Al Bragg, Brian Magner, Peter Brown, and Tom McMahon.
P.S. If there was a band, the website would look something like
this.
